USCACA held its 2nd annual meeting during the ASCO in Chicago on June4, 2010. More than 200 attendees from USA and China were present, including leaders from academia, industry and regulatory agencies. Dr. Michael Shi chaired the meeting. Professor Shou-Ching Tang, the President of USCACA outlined the mission and programs of USCACA and its progress since 2009. USCACA executive director, Dr. Li Yan and CSCO (Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology) president, Dr. Yilong Wu signed agreement to collaborate on cancer prevention, anti-cancer drug development and clinical trials. Past ASCO president, Dr Dave Johnson applauded this agreement as one of the most important progresses in US-China collaboration in clinical oncology. Past AACR president Dr. William N. Hait congratulated USCACA and CSCO for the important progress and expressed his high confidence in USCACA team. 7 industry clinical research leaders presented their visions and plans on how to futher develop clinical research in China. The meeting ended with a lively panel discussion on challenges and opportunities in cancer research and treatment between USA and China.
USCACA is a fast-growing non-profit organization with more than 400 elite members from US academia and industry. CSCO is a leading body of ~ 10,000 Oncologists in China.
