DIRECTOR-Clinical Biomarker/Oncology

The Clinical Biomarker - Oncology Group uses state of the art technologies to discover and implement biomarker strategies for furthering development of the oncology pipeline. Members of this team work on various projects in concert with multiple groups within Discovery and Exploratory Clinical Research & Global Development and Medical Affairs and have impact at many different levels of the organization. This team is responsible for the application of genetic, genomic and proteomic technologies for identification and development of novel biomarkers to enable the clinical development of the right drugs at the right dose for the right patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing oncology biomarker discovery and validation projects. This will include leading efforts for data generation, interpretation and communication to the team. The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating collaborations and alliances both internally and with external partners.
 
We are currently seeking an experienced scientist preferably with a cancer research background in the areas of angiogenesis, signal transduction, or apoptosis. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. or experience equivalent with a Ph.D. and 10-15 years work experience including the management of people and matrix teams. Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in the field of oncology translational medicine, biomarker discovery, and drug development. Candidates should have experience with various genomic profiling technologies, systems biology, immuno-assays, qRT-PCR, DNA sequencing, cell culture, and other basic molecular and cell biology skills. Experience managing a portfolio of projects is essential. Prior experience with clinical studies and diagnostic development is a plus. Successful candidates will be highly motivated and collaborative individuals with the ability to multitask and drive team achievement while working across multiple disciplines in a complex matrix organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate scientific objectives and project results are required.
